James Phillips Bailey, M.D.
"It is important to treat the patient as I would want to be treated."
Dr. Bailey combines his medical expertise with a personal approach toward his patients. To increase the trust between patient
and physician, he carefully considers all medical options from a personal standpoint before making a decision.
A native of Blount County, Alabama, Dr. Bailey received a degree in chemistry from Auburn University. He completed his M.D.
as well as his residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He went on to complete fellowships in adult reconstructive
surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bailey was initially certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1992 and was re-certified in 2003.
